“Ethical sourcing” is a phrase many suppliers throw around. But what does it actually mean — and how can you tell if it’s genuine?
At Rocket Bags, it’s more than a promise. It’s built into every step of how we design, source, and deliver your merchandise.
Here’s what it really takes to make an ethical branded bag.
First, it starts with our factories. Every partner we work with must pass independent third-party audits, including SMETA or BSCI, which review everything from fair pay to working conditions and environmental standards. We don’t compromise — if a factory doesn’t meet our expectations, we help them improve or we walk away.
Next, we go beyond minimum legal requirements. All our core suppliers sign detailed Declarations of Social Responsibility, Slavery Declarations, and REACH compliance forms to confirm there are no harmful substances or forced labour involved. We review and renew these documents every year.
We also conduct our own internal audits and maintain a Corrective Action Programme (CAPR) for continuous improvement. This means that if any issue arises — even a minor one — we investigate, support, and document how it’s resolved.
Transparency is another key piece. Our Modern Slavery Statement is publicly available and details exactly how we manage and monitor our supply chain. And we invite clients to review our certifications and supplier documentation any time.
But ethics don’t stop at compliance. We’re proud to be accredited as Climate Positive, meaning we offset more than 100% of our carbon footprint. Every bag we make carries a smaller footprint — thanks to responsible materials, consolidated shipping, and recyclable packaging.
We also help our clients make better choices: whether it’s opting for organic cotton, recycled polyester (rPET), or water-based inks. Ethical sourcing shouldn’t feel restrictive — it should feel empowering.
Because in the end, ethical manufacturing isn’t just about doing less harm. It’s about doing more good — for your customers, your brand, and the people behind every stitch.
