Cotton shopper bags to be given out at community event

Cotton shopper bags are to be given out at an upcoming community event in West Yorkshire.

Residents of Kirkburton in Huddersfield have been invited to attend the Info@TheHub event on November 7th, when a number of local organisations and agencies will come together to provide details of their services.

Among the representatives will be West Yorkshire Police, which will be giving out cotton shopper bags to residents in order to promote crime prevention in the area.

Local PC Sally Baines commented: "It is simply a 'drop in' to empower people within their own neighbourhoods. By giving them all the information and contact details at their fingertips, it should make a difference when they come across a problem which they need resolving."

Meanwhile, Leeds company Groundwork will be giving out cotton shopper bags this Saturday (October 31st) at an event designed to raise awareness of sustainable carriers and reduce the number of plastic bags in circulation, the Morley Observer reported.
